Yes the birth certificate says father unknown. Ivy was born in Bridgend and did marry Charles Renney in 1937.
The son is alive, he has always wanted to find out who his father is, I’m doing this with his blessing.

Was he brought up by Ivy and Charles?

If he is still alive perhaps you could get as much information as you can from him or from his siblings if they are still alive, families are always a good source of information

FindMyPast didn’t want to show me the last record on the previous page and as the summary said ‘Jones household’ i assumed the first record was a Jones 🙄

As on other post.  If there is no fathers name on his birth cert and his mother is now deceased and he either had no contact with her or she never disclosed his fathers name - then there is little if any chance of finding that info unless a living family member has it.

You must contact a social worker to get information   regarding the father its all to personal, perhaps the father was not even told he was going to have a child
