Birth Registration and Adoption
« on: Monday 22 April 19 13:20 BST (UK) »
My query relates to the 1960’s.
If a child is born and registered and then within 3 months adopted ,is the original registration altered in any way?

Are you asking about a birth and adoption in England/Wales, or some other jurisdiction?

In England/Wales, the birth record simply has the word 'Adopted' added in the space to the right of the Registrar's signature.  No details of the adoption are shown, so it's not possible to trace the child's new identity unless you are that child (or very closely related in certain circumstances).

I don't know what happens elsewhere.
