Unidentified man in photograph taken by W. H. Major of Woodston, Peterborough

I have been given this photograph of an unidentified man that was taken by a William Henry Major of Woodston, Peterborough, who was apparently active between 1888 and 1927.

I would like to know how old this photograph is likely to be. My impression is that it is closer to the 1888 date than it is 1927. Also are there any clues as to the age of the man based on his clothing?

I would think closer to the 1888 date too but I am not good at dating. This will move your photo back up the board though for the experts to see it.

It could be into the 1890s..it looks like a wedding photo.
