Lost Family in Glasgow
« on: Monday 15 August 05 15:42 BST (UK) »
Requesting help to locate any family members of JAMES GILCHRIST.

James Gilchrist b. September 8, 1896, son of Andrew Gilchrist, joiner journeyman and Annie (Bennett) Gilchrist, residing at ? Terrace, Shettleston.
The family then moved to 600 Old Edinburgh Rd., Glasgow.

James served during WW1.  After the war, James married Jean, surname unknown, year unknown.  James and Jean have 2 sons, James and Andrew.

Last  known address for James/Jean and family, in 1956-1959 was Quarrybrae St. in the area of Parkland in Glasgow.  We think that James worked in/at the ship yards?????
Further inquiries made in 1981, stated that Quarrybrae had be demolished with no further information afforded to us.
Can/would anyone be able to advise us as to where go go/write to find any further information or find any living relatives of James and Jean.
Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards :D

Hi Gail, You could try the Newspaper, 'The Sunday Post'

See

http://www.dcthomson.co.uk/mags/post/

They have a lost touch section where you can either post a message on-line or have it put in the paper itself.

Cheers
