Hello, I wonder if anyone is able to help identify this uniform please?

Don't know the specific but it is a Rifle Regiment (there were a number).  The black buttons, type of uniform and the bugle badge that can be made out on the sabretache point that way.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Thank you very much MaxD. That is very helpful.  Information I have says these two gentlemen might have been in the Royal Irish Rifles. Would that fit with the uniform do you think?

Easy to fall into a Heffalump trap with uniforms of the period and my knowledge is thin in that area but I'd say the uniforms are right in the general detail.  they look to be a 2nd lieutenant and a lieutenant if that computes?  The (now) Royal Ulster Rifles Museum might be a good bet if nothing definitive pops up:

Not rifles at all, but actually two Royal Artillery officers, approximately 1890.

They are wearing 'patrol jackets' used for informal situations.  Similar jackets were worn by almost the whole army at this time, it is the precise pattern of the lace that identifies artillery.

Agree to Royal Artillery, they also have Flaming Grenade badges on the front of their Torin Caps.

Thank you MaxD, T1 and Tony. Based on what has been said, I think I may have identified the two gentlemen, one of whom I have discovered served with a Native Mountain Battery of the Royal Artillery in India in 1891 and had been promoted from Lieutenant to Captain. Thank you everyone.
