Pauline Margaret did marry Thomas Gillibrand at Manchester Cathedral in June 1861. I think I've found her with son John on the 1871 census and she's a mangle woman. She's named as head and married and son John now called Gillibrand is age 15. No sign of Thomas though.

AVM I can't check the census page because findmypast will only accept the piece number, as soon as I add the folio and/or the page number it shows no results. Just using the piece number gives 28 results  all Kay's but not the ones I'm looking for.

The PIECE number in 1861 is 2964, not 28

The census reference I gave earlier is correct.  If you can't find them, search for Jeremiah Kay b 1788.

Added: actually it isn't coming up on FindMyPast - not sure why.

I've been having the same problem with FindMyPast for a couple of weeks. There's definitely something wrong somewhere.

I tried looking for Jeremiah Kay 1788 and it showed no records at all.

Wow thank you so much that matches up with the 1871 census.

Wonder why I can't find it?

I just used avm's reference alone on FindMyPast and it worked. Margaret and family can be seen bottom of the page.

On the FindMyPast index the family are transcribed as King.

Just realised that Thomas Gillibrand was Margaret's brother-in-law. He was the widower of her husbands sister Jane.
