medals
« on: Friday 26 April 19 18:46 BST (UK) »
A friend of mine found some medals in house she has bought (Cumbria) be nice to return them to owners family.
William Donaldson, K8495, STO.1.R.N.
All I can find out he was a Stoker 1st class, do not know what 1.R.N. stands for unless its Royal Navy.
Any help appreciated.

I'm guessing that STO.1 = Stoker 1st Class and RN = Royal Navy.

Thank you.
I have found him, he was born 18/08/1892 Glasgow, served on various ships, but could not find him in 1939 register.

The 1939 National Register also does not include anyone serving in the military.
