Walsall - Pleck - Burials

Hi there - a family member lived and died in Walsall, last living in Pleck and died Q4 1904.

I think it's too early for cremations, so does anybody know where could somebody be buried in this part of Walsall? Not Catholic as far as I know...

Queen street cemetery , pleck was one place, near to the manor hospital.There are other places not too far away. Its mainly grassed over now. Do you know where they were living at the time because its near to other places which may be feasible.

Ryecroft was the main cemetery for the Walsall area and for those who are Catholic they had their own section there.

It opened in in the 1890s as Queen Street closed.

The Local History Museum has information about burials.

Local history museum is still closed as they have been in the process of moving to Lichfield street for a while and was only open for 2 days a week for a while before that due to the move. Was supposed to open I think in the first quarter of this year but still not. Queen street had burials for years after ryecroft opened in late 1890's. There's only a few gravestones to be seen. Ryecroft was open as a crem at one time as well. What info have you got on your relatives death ? When the archives re opens I may be able to do a look up for you.
The church in pleck road Walsall does n't have a burial ground.

Hi and thanks to everyone who has contributed.

Thomas Alexander Dyke WALTERS died Q4 1904, lived in Princes Street in Pleck.

I'm more than happy to apply for his death certificate to get his actual date of death if this helps locate his resting place.

I've attached a photo in military dress but we don't have any information about his service as yet. His wife was Jemima née Pegg but remarried and is shown in the register as HUMPHRISS died Q1 1937 in Walsall, possibly was Humphries.

PS Did the original St John Church in Pleck have a graveyard?

It was my school's church - long time ago but don't remember much of an area around it where there could be a graveyard.
