Trouble with two Hamblings
« on: Wednesday 01 May 19 13:56 BST (UK) »

Father Samuel Hambling 1807-1850 Mother Frances Hudson 1811-1877
Two sons William Abt 1832 East Harling, Norfolk, England I think married Jane Nichols. The thing here that confuses me there is another William Hambling born about that time and only lived short time, in the documents on Ancestry nether say who their parents were.

Then there is Thomas abt 1835 East Dereham, Norfolk, England same parents hardly any info about him.
Please scan photos at 300dpi or higher. Thank you.

William Hambling, son of Samuel and Frances, was b.20/8/1832, bp.9/9/1832 East Dereham - he was buried 4/1/1844 East Dereham and burial entry states 'son of Samuel and Frances'.

Thomas Hambling was still single and living with widowed mother Frances in 1871 (Samuel Hambling bur.18/6/1850) - can't see him after that.

So that William is the one that died early in life, so never did marry. Thank you. Looks like Thomas stayed single.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. Many trees have William as married and two names are given as his wifes.

Samuel and Frances had another son named William born 1845 (Sept.qtr.) - perhaps you've been looking at this one.

I have that one in my tree; I think I have him sorted. He died in 1937 in South Shields, Durham, England He married twice. First wife Eliza Ellsworth 1850-1886 they had William John Hambling and Annie M Hambling. His second wife was Sarah Brooks 1849 -1920 they had Bertha, Rebecca and Samuel.
