His Grand Niece is trying to recreate the Fraser Family Tree for the 15 Siblings born in Scotland. Adam (b 24 Dec 1896) is believed to have landed Quebec in 1925 on Melita to see his brother Hugh (b 5 Sept 1882) at 202 Firth Avenue, Montreal. Adam could have been Apt3, 4136 Blvd Decorie, Montreal in 1930 or 1931 while working for the Canadian Pacific Railways. Adam was awarded a Military Cross for gallantry during WW1. Hugh is thought to be married and Adam's status is unknown. Any traces of them would be greatly appreciated by their modern day Fraser relatives.

To help in the search - the shipping record gives Adam's father's name as J S Fraser, Free Stance? Arderser, Invernessshire

There is a Medal Roll Index card for a Hugh Alex Fraser Sgt 1/4 Seaforth Highlanders, 3/5 Seaforth Highlanders, 4/5th Seaforth Highlanders, Royal Field Artillery
Regimental Numbers - 1387, 241296, 2811864, 4/1

BUT there seems to be another Hugh Alex Fraser who married in Australia and another? one a doctor qualifying at Edinburgh 1879

Dear Crisane, Yes, you are spot on with the Fraser Family Members but the "problem" is that the ones living in Scotland lost contact with Adam and Hugh at the time of WW1 for some reason or another? I will contact the Grand Niece for the Medal Transcript so that we have that bit right. We most certainly appreciate your reply and are looking in the direction of their death and marital status if that is possible as we think that is in Canada. Is there anything else we need to add to assist with this post?

Many thanks, nw_whiskers.

Neither brother seems to show up on voters lists in Canada.  Of course privacy is strict, no BMD records to search.
There is a burial of a Hugh Alexander Fraser at Les Jardins Commémoratifs Lakeview Memorial Gardens (Pointe-Claire) - Montreal Quebec. Born 1882 - passed away 1962 but no further information at moment to positively identify him.
The inscription is plainly - FRASER In loving memory of Hugh Alexander Fraser 1882 - 1962.  ???

Dear Sandra, That is a "brilliant" reply as Hugh Alexander Fraser was thought (but the departure year may be wrong!) to have emigrated before WW1 after the rest of a close knit Fraser Family lost contact with him. It is reckoned that he was married but we have NO knowledge if it was in Scotland or Canada. His "memorial transcript" is a great bonus for us at this end as you have filled in one of the big questions about him for us.

Many thanks, nw_whiskers.
