I have a marriage off ernest stevens to Eleanor m radcliffe apr-jun 1949 in registration district liverpool south .eleanor was married before to joseph radcliffe so I am wondering would her marriage to earnest stevens also gave her orginal maiden name as I can't find her marriage details date etc  to joseph

The certificate would give her father's name ,so that should show her maiden name.

As it's a 2nd marriage it may well have occured at a registry office,so no parish records to look at,just the actual cert itself.

Did she die as Eleanor M Stevens,when and where?
If it was after 1969 her exact date of birth should be shown (if the informant knew it)

Did she have children,her maiden name will show on their births of course.

Yes it should say formerly whatever her name was. 

If they had children their birth registrations should give her maiden (original) surname.

Was she a widow in 1939?  If so you can check birth registrations for children from her first marriage (can't post names as they could be living)

I doubt she had children from this 2nd marriage,the 1939 register has an Eleanor Radcliffe with her name altered to read Stevens and she's born in 1897.

So by the time she married Mr Stevens in 1949 she'd have been too old.

Was he definitely Joseph only there is a marriage between

Frank Radcliffe and Eleanor J Carr in Sep 1915 W Derby

or is that too long ago?  Depends how old Eleanor was.

There's a Frank Radcliffe dies in Liverpool age 44 in Jun 1935 - if he was Frank and not Joseph that is.

Sorry no forget that one she dies as Eleanor J Radcliffe.
