Sweden emigration 1871
« on: Tuesday 07 May 19 15:04 BST (UK) »
Attached is a portion of a passenger list departing Gothenberg 14 April 1871 on the Rollo. I would like to try to locate them in Sweden but not sure what the place of origin is for Johanna and the children.  P G Anderson is found in the US records as Per and Pehr.  He is the one I really want to trace but Westmanlands is not helpful enough.  Any suggestions?

Best wishes
Jean

There is a town named Kungsbacka in Sweden. Could that be it?

It's about 30km south of Gothenberg.

Best regards,
Karen

Thanks for the replies.  I had considered Kungsbacka first and after scrolling mindlessly in records I gave up.  Last night I discovered  Kungs-Barkarö was a parish that sounded possible but still did not find a birth so figured I would ask for a second opinion.   I just found the BC for Per David in 1868 so must have been asleep on my first attempts last night!  There is a notation that says he is a Baptist child.  Did not expect that!

THe 1871 record is perfect.  I need to study all that.  Not sure I understand the birth place given for the father Per Gustaf.

Thanks again
Jean

No worries Ian I had found the record based on date of birth in the Floda birth records last night.  These locations are far from where I was hoping they would lead so I need to regroup.  I may be on the wrong path.

Thanks
Jean
