Arctic Convoy Medal
« on: Thursday 09 May 19 13:34 BST (UK) »
Please can you tell me the correct name of this medal. It was awarded posthumously to an uncle who served aboard HMS Zambesi on arctic convoys.
I've found some info on the Ushakov medal, recently awarded to British veterans, but that looks very different to this medal.
Having received this medal would the holder also be entitled to receive the Arctic Star medal?

You could contact the MOD medal office and ask them if he is entitled to the Arctic Star.

Looking at this, it seems he may be:

Having received this medal would the holder also be entitled to receive the Arctic Star medal?

As a general rule for the UK armed forces: - campaign medals (UK and since 1945 UN) are issued based on entitlement (minimum number of days on active service in a theatre of war).  Foreign awards may be worn with the approval of the Ministry of War (now the MOD).  UK/UN medals take precedence over foreign medals.
