1841 census High Wycombe
« on: Thursday 09 May 19 17:48 BST (UK) »
Sophia Milner and Katherine Bingley (daughters of Michael Milner and Harriet Kitty Thomlinson originally from Devon ) are listed in 1841 census as living with four other women in Easton Street.  I cant seem to find anything on Findmypast about Mary Lermon, Sarah Woodbridge or Phoebe Rixon - can anyone see a connection please?

Census reference HO107/55/9/12.
Sophia Molner   55
Mary Lermon   60
Katherine Bring   60
Charlotte Dural   70
All 'Ind', NBIC
Sarah Woodbridge   20
Pheobe Reven   20
both FS, both BIC
[as transcribed on ancestry]

The last 2 are young female servants so there will be no connection. The others are women of independent means between 55 - 70, so may just have been old friends living together to share the cost of the servants.

Many thanks for that. Yes I can see that it makes sense that the two youngsters are servants. Amazing just one entry and the difference in the names between Ancestry and FindMyPast.
Charlotte Duval (nee Melville)  I've found her marriage to Lewis (15/7/1797 in Exeter Devon) so a Devon connection but Mary Lermon is still a mystery.

For the back burner:

In 1861 there is this Mary LEMON in Holborn who was born in Devonshire. Joseph is her grandson [marked as a comment by an ancestry user; same user has commented on Mary's name - first to Maria Lemon then Mary Hunt.]
RG 9; Piece: 186; Folio: 16; Page: 39
Joseph Hurst   19
Mary Lemon   80
Alexander Cumming   23
Mary Cumming   19

ADDED: MAY be
Name:   Mary Hunt
Birth Date:   5 Feb 1779
Gender:   Female
Event Type:   Baptism
Father:   Joseph Hunt
Mother:   Mary Hunt
Baptism Date:   9 Jan 1780
Baptism Place:   Exeter, Devon, England
Denomination:   Presbyterian
but I can find no marriage to a Lemon.

Thanks Josey
That certainly sounds interesting with the Devon connection. I'll try and chase that up.
Every little helps as they say :)
