Sadly no idea yet but guess it would have been a mother's maiden name passed on as a christian name to a child or children in the family.

Harriet Kitty Milner married Dr James Layman, their daughter Catherine Layman married John Thomas and it's their daughter Catherine Thomas 1836 that is mentioned in Harriet's Will. She marries Captain Charles Frederick Kneller.
I am very interested in the Milner family albeit l am directly related to the Layman's and l have a little information with regards to them if anyone would like to share please let me know.
