Yes I agree the gravestone definitely links them together somehow.

I wonder if it would be worth getting a will for one of them to see who and what is mentioned.

Kitty Jane Bingley is on the find a will website.

Died 21 March 1863.  Will proved at Oxford by the oath of Rev Thomas Henry Paddon of High Wycombe clerk the sole executor.

Course if the others had already died they won't be mentioned but the mystery niece might be and perhaps other mystery relatives!

Amelia Milner is on there also - just crept in as it starts from 1858

Of Chepping Wycombe died 5 June 1858 proved by the oath of Catherine Thomas of Chepping Wycombe widow the niece and one of the executors.

So as she was from the same place (is it a small place?) they could even have been living together.

We could next look for a death for Catherine Thomas in Wycombe or for her on the 1851/1861 census.

She was a widow in 1858 but we don't know how old she was.

I really appreciate the info you are finding.  I've been scouring FMPast and all I've found is Amelia's death 2q 1858 Wycombe no details! 1851 census seems to be rubbish on FindMyPast no sign of Amelia and I've spent hrs with every conceivable variation.
Nothing on 1851 & 61 Censuses either for Catherine Thomas and only one you mentioned on 1841- most frustrating.
But you've given me more info, thanks for that.

Charlotte Duval fits with the 1841 census Ive found two marriage notices to Lewis for her one with her surname as Melvill and one as Vincent both same date.

I can't find a census for her - who was she with and where?

If the ages are right she was born c1763 so before Michael and Harriet married.

Do we know how old Michael was?  Could Charlotte have been a daughter from a previous marriage?

Back to Catherine Thomas  8)

1891 has a CT born Wycombe - age is mixed up but possibly 68 and a widow

living with Annie Thomas 24 daughter

No forget that one she isn't a widow in 1858.

Thanks again for thoughts and ideas - I do need them!
Like you I struggle to find more info on her.  I did find another marriage record to Lewis Duval with her name as Charlotte Melvill Vincent - which I guess sort of makes sense but using variations of her maiden name(s) I've not found her anywhere else.

I've found a couple of births for a Lewis Duval both in London area 1739 and 1774 the latter perhaps more likely and a possible will 1810 Ilfracombe Devon that might be worth following up.
Time just goes when you're searching :)
