There were more children weren't there for George and wife Harriet . I would link to Family Search, but they seem to have a current problem. From other indexes, in Portsea Island in 1881:

Harriett Williams 35
Emma Williams 14
Elizabeth Williams 5
Ellen Williams 3
John Williams 1

Oddly, this Harriet shows as a widow working as a charwoman?

1891, still in Portsea, and George back in the fold:

George Williams 45 Naval Pensioner
Harriet Williams 45
Ellen Williams 13
Henry W Williams 11 months

I think the word you mention under Naval Pensioner might be Cleaner? Could this fit for Harriet and connect to that 1881 entry?

Is this Harriet 1871 census?

This George Williams married Harriet Pragnell on  12th Nov 1866 (I have the cert) She was the subject of a previous topic. This is her on the 1871 census. I have had a problem with the GRO getting a birth certificate. On FreeBMD it gives the ref Births Dec 1843 Stockbridge Vol 7 page 207 and vol 7 page 209. Stockbridge being strange as Stockbridge being on the Hants/Wilts border and she lived in or associated with Portsea.
I am going to collate all the information to date and all the pieces I have to see how the timeline works out. There are seperate census for Harriet & George due to his Naval service.
Thanks again for all the help. I am working on my family tree from the island of Gozo so lots of my files back in the UK. David

they also have this entry Portsea but this Harriet has a middle name

PRAGNELL, HARRIET  SARAH  mmn   LANGFORD
1845  D Quarter in PORTSEA ISLAND UNION  Volume 07  Page 119

possible marriages
Pragnall/Kimber Pragnell/Langford

James Pragnell

Thank You Ladyhawk!  I have looked at the marriage cert for George and Harriet. Her father was George Pragnell (deceased)..so it looks Its Harriet Sarah Pragnell is the lady we need. There is no middle name on that certificate. I had emailed the GRO yesterday about the 2 refs on FreeBMD.
How & where did you find the GRO indexes?Never used them. I do have a logon to their website as use it to order certs. Thanks again. David

Thank you for the advice on GRO indexes. I have not looked at Harriet's family yet . I my first object was to solve George Williams death as it looked like I have he wrong cert. From what you have found it seems logical that she did have a brother. I find all of this very interesting!  David

I have received the death cert of Maria Jane Williams wife of George Williams (naval pensioner).
He is shown as the informant, so he must have died after 1922. I can find a death of a George Williams age 83 (right age) Dec 1927 Southampton 2c 22. Could this be the right man? David
