Hi

I have come across a photograph which is reportedly of my 3x great grandmother, Elvena B. Caquelard. She lived in Jamaica.

But I have an element of doubt!

Most likely to be 1870s, that's when the oval vignette style was introduced but showing the whole photo including the back helps.

Thought I'd seen it before. Don't know that it will help with dating but Chris's original unrestored photo is from 18 months ago together with some lovely restores. Today's version looks like Wiggy's restore.

Have to disagree with the date. Everything is wrong for the 1870's (except for the oval vignette card).
The hairstyle, neckline & bodice is typical Edwardian.
