Jewish Marriage Authorisation

Hi
I have obtained the marriage authorisation for a Jewish ancestor of mine who emigrated from Russia. I requested this as I wanted to find out if he had any brothers as I understand that they would be recorded on the certificate.
I was a bit daft requesting it as I can't read Hebrew....
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to interpret it?

I am new to the forum. Is it acceptable to post an image of the authorisation? If I can work out how?!

Hi, NTLH, would you please tell me where you obtained the marriage authorisation as I have a similar situation of a male from Russia and a female from Poland probably marrying in England about 1860 but have not been able to find any record.

Hi Francoso,

The United Synagogue and the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain have copies of historic Marriage Authorisation Records dated 1880-1918.
I ordered my online copy from US. There is a good search facility on the website.
Unfortunately I don't think that helps you as you said that the date you're looking for is the 1860s.
