Rachel Marston, born 1814 in Bungay
« on: Sunday 12 May 19 09:57 BST (UK) »
Good morning.

I'm struggling to find any more records related to Rachel Marston, born at Bungay in 1814. She was baptised 23 August 1814 to Thomas Marston and Ann Aggs. She married George Smith at Great Yarmouth 14 August 1835 and I have them in 1841 living in Bungay, but unfortunately that's all I can find for them both.

Thank you :)

This is not helpful finding George and Rachel but there is reference to George Smith, printer, Bungay in 1837 in the Suffolk Archives.

It looks like Rachel died in Feb1846. I was able to find a newspaper clipping. February 21, 1846 - Norwich Mercury reads "On the 17th ult, at Buffalo, North America, Rachel, the wife of Mr. George Smith, lately of Bungay, printer and stationer". I found their passenger list arrival US, New York, 16 Sep 1845 on the Quebec, no children listed.

One more possible lead if you are interested in George. I think I found him in the 1850 US Census in Buffalo, ward 5 with a wife Sarah, son John (age 1) and he is a shopkeeper. In 1860 he is in West Seneca, Erie, New York, occupation is listed as Gardener but the print is so faint I can't be sure that is correct. I am not sure this is your George but something to try.
