Reading faded shipping details
« on: Monday 13 May 19 04:01 BST (UK) »
Hi, can you help me please to decipher and read the address of the person I am researching as he arrives in Southampton 1955 - with his address in Glasgow Scotland. It is the top one - please - helping family find a 'lost' father.  :)

I thought maybe N Phoenix St - but I can't see it in this list  :-\  https://geographic.org/streetview/scotland/west_dunbartonshire/clydebank.html

Thanks Kay, what an interesting list you supplied! Maybe the end bit is...something ...'bank' which might get us a bit closer?  :D

I think it is a 'Street'  as in 'St'  rather than a Road, or Avenue, or Terrace, or Row etc.

I think it is 43 or 45  (as in the house number)

I think it has an 'N.' as in an abbreviation for North at the start of the name of the Street.

I think it starts with a 'P' or an 'R' and second letter could be 'h' or 'l'

and I could be way way off track  :D

Sorry, I have run out of spare moments at the mo.

I think it could be 43 or 45, W(est) Thomson St, Clydebank.
There are very few E/W or N/S addresses in Clydebank.
