Ellyn Huett Uts Hankshaw
« on: Monday 13 May 19 16:53 BST (UK) »
According to the transcription Ellyn Huett Uts Hankshaw was married to Richard Houghland in Tarvin, Cheshire on the 31/1/1615. Does any one know if the Uts Hankshaw means anything specific or is it really part of her name which I am assuming is Huett ?

Thank you for your quick reply I have also looked at the image but wasn't sure what the letters were. You could be right in which caseI need to find out what als means. Any ideas ? I thought it could mean previosly married to someone called Hankshaw or possibly lived at Hankshaw but can't find proof of either.
Thanks again for your suggestion.

there is a burial 16th december 1613 in Tarvin for a William Hankshaw -and on 13th January 1613 for a Richard Hankshaw - possibly one was a stepfather for Ellyn ??

One of my ancestors has a similar marriage record. In her case, the birth name came first, followed by her married name - i.e. Huett previously married Hankshaw.

William Hankshaw, who died in 1613, was the son of Richard, so was Ellyn Richard's widow?
