It's getting more interesting but complicated  ;)

David McGinnis (c1809-17 July 1869 William St.), son of William, m. Rebecca (d.1854 William St.); m.(1854) Anne Allison (c1823-1881), dau of Joseph Allison
Marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGX1-4DJ (Magennis) & https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QGV8-D37S
Londonderry Standard, 14 Dec.1854: Presbyterian Church, the Rev. James Denham, D.D., Mr. David Magninness, painter. Londonderry, Annie, youngest daughter of Joseph Allison, Esq., Craig, near Muff, county Donegal.
Londonderry Sentinel, 20 July 1869: July 17, at his residence, William Street, Londonderry, Mr. David Maginness, aged 60 years.
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1882/06413/4841817.pdf
1. Joseph Allison McGuinness (c1858-1917)- see reply #19
2. Daughter (4 Sept.1865) Annie Elizabeth?
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1865/03553/2308061.pdf (father David painter, 6 William St.)

Family tree that says Joseph Allison McGuinnes' mother was Ann Nesbitt I think has confused Joseph's mother Ann Allison with father's first wife Jane Nesbitt.

So, David likely married 1st Jane Nesbitt, 2nd Rebecca, 3rd Ann Allison

David McGuinness/McGinnis (1810?-1869?), son of William, painter & glazier, m. Jane Nesbitt, m. Rebecca (d.1854 William St.), m.(1854) Anne Allison
1. Rev. William Nesbitt McGuinness (c1834-1881 Australia), eld. son
2. Jane Dunbar McGuinness (1839-1912), eld. dau., m.(1865 N.Z.) Edwin Holloway
3. Matilda “Tilly” McGuinness (c1843), 2nd dau., m.(1863) Thomas Henry Corr
4. Robert McGuinness (c1846-1853) (William St.)
5. Samuel Gilliland McGuinness (c1851-1919)
6. Rebecca McGuinness (c1856-1889) m.(1882) Alexander Anderson (alive 1895)
Children of David & Anne-
7. Joseph Allison McGuinness (c1858-1917)
8. Annie Elizabeth McGuinness (1865?)

Information from the late Rhoda McGuinness, which she said came from the family bible.

David Dunbar McGuinness b01/08/1809 d17/07/1869 married twice.

Rebecca Nesbitt m.1831 in Faughanvale Presbyterian Church, Muff.  Rebecca d17/04/1854

Annie Allison m.05/12/1854

First marriage produced 7 children.  Second marriage produced 6.

Posted by great-granddaughter of Samuel Gilliland McGuinness (1848-1919), youngest child of the first marriage.

I have a letter written by Mrs Violet Finlason nee Holloway in 1958 to my grandmother on the death of her husband, Samuel Joseph McGuinness, who was Violet's first cousin.   Violet's granddaughter, Beatrice Jackson, visited my grandparents shortly prior to 1958.
