Death of Jeremiah Kidd, 1844?

I have this from FreeBMD

Deaths Mar 1844
KIDD    Jeremiah        Thetford    13   271

I would very much like to find it in the GRO Death index, to get his age-at-death.

But I can't find it.

The obvious "wide open" search for Phonetically similar to "Kidd", Male, 1844±2, "Thetford" gives no results.

Can anyone help?

He was buried at Hockwold cum Wilton
Jeremiah Kidd of Thetford 7 Feb 1844 but no age given

ps just found his death on the GRO under Thidd .
And he was aged 66 years!

A* in the surname box  then B* etc for Thetford until it came up.
I agree with you the search form is awful

To be clear, you found him by searching Jeremiah T* in Thetford R.D ?
I just tried that and it didn’t work.
What am I doing wrong?

You have to choose 'Phonetically similar variations' in the surname field.
