John Sanderson - St. Mary's Ontario

I am trying to find the parents of John Sanderson - born in County Cavan, Ireland in 1823, immigrated to Canada and then settled in St. Mary's Ontario. Any assistance would be appreciated!

I believe he passed in St. Mary's 4 Apr 1904 and there is a photo of his marker

You mat want to check the Stratford. St Mary's and London Ontario newspaper archives at the local public libraries for notices.

There is a tree on Anc. that says he immigrated to Canada with his parents, naming his father also a John, no name for the mother.  There is no evidence attached.

The museum in St. Mary's has their portraits, so they possibly have more information; I didn't dig around the site more.  Search around, and maybe send them an email:

On page 17 of this: http://stmarysindy.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Independent_02_07_19_ONLINE.pdf   is a biography of John which states he did come over as a child, but does not name his parents.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Will keep digging and probably make a pilgrimage to the museum in St. Mary's.
