John Hinton (1743 - 1798)

Hi,

I have found an image that purports to be of my 5th great grandfather, John Hinton (1743 -1798).

It cannot be a photograph, as the first photograph was 1826.

Perhaps it is a photograph of a portrait? Or perhaps a photograph attached to a later John Hinton, in error. (I thought that the style of dress, perhaps, was later than the 18th Century.)

Any thoughts would be very welcome.
