Ellen Kells of Monaghan
« on: Friday 17 May 19 17:22 BST (UK) »
Seeking information regarding Ellen Kells, who was born in Monaghan in 1833. All I know is that her father's name was Abraham, who may have been involved in petty crime. I sadly do not know the name of her mother and I don't know how to go about finding that information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Griffiths Valuation - Monaghan survey completed in 1861 - lists an Abraham Kells in Killeevan Parish, Clones Union, Co Monaghan.  Landlord Lord Cremorne.  See below:-

Hi

Civilrecords at irishgenealogy.ie shows the Death of an Ellen Kells age 78 in Clones in 1865.  This lady was born too early to be your Ellen...... but could it be her Mother?

There was a court case in 1879 but no way to tell with checking details what the circumstances were (available on Find My Past)-

Wonder if he could be the Abm. Kells who died 1881 (age 60) in New Jersey, U.S.A. (residence 1 yr.)?

If so too young to be Ellen's father.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
