Patrick was swimming in Lough Corrib.
Noel Huggard of the Ashford Castle Hotel, Miss Hogan and Caher O Doherty tried to save him.
Huggard identified his body as Patrick Hobart messenger boy who was training to be a waiter employed at the hotel since February.
Patrick's father was dead but his mother was still living.
It appears Patrick swam out about 10 yards turned on his back and disappeared. There were several women about who called for help, O Doherty was in a boat, rowed over and put out an oar but Patrick made no attempt to catch it.
Miss Hogan (not at inquest as in shock) also in a boat pointed out to Mr Huggard where Patrick was Huggard swam out and could see the body under the water.
Print is very bad think the name is Col Orme dived down and recovered the body which was brought ashore.
Artificial respiration was applied for 2 hours and 20 minutes, without result.
It sounds like he is buried in Cong.
