Two Sisters possibly the same person??
« on: Sunday 19 May 19 17:48 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a Jessie Tuzio that my Nan has told me about. My nan used to call her aunt Jessie when she visited her a few times in Liverpool, but does not remember much as she was only a child at the time.

I have only found one mention of a Jessie Tuzio in my research. She is mentioned on a 1901 Census as a Jessie Dominick living in Coventry, (Dominick is a written down translation error i believe as the other people match with my research).

In my further research looking for other Tuzio's, i came across a Cesidia Tuzio but my nan never mentioned a Cesidia to me. I then however found a marriage record for a Jessicam Cesidia Twizi (Should be Tuzio)

Could these two people possibly be the same person? I have never heard of the name Jessicam before? The ages match up the same between the two and Jessie seems to disappear after that one Census but Cesidia then appears on the 1911 census only a few doors away from Angelina Tuzio my 2nd great grandmother.

Any clarification would be most appreciated. I have alot of trouble researching my Italian ancestors.
Tuzio, Verrechia, Quaglieri, Squires, Matthews, Totten, Cooke, Hill

Was the marriage record a church record? I wonder if it is from a Latin record.

The marriage record is from the Cheshire Non-Conformist & Roman Catholic Registers 17th Centuary 1910

The record is in Italian though.

It is in Latin, not Italian.  The name Cesidia is in brackets, so it looks as though that is her Italian name and Jessica is her anglicised name.  (Jessie is pretty close in sound to the Italian Cesi).

The surname is Tuzi rather than Tuzio.

FreeBMD ref: Cesidio Franchitti marr Cesidia Tuzi, Jun qtr 1906 Chester 8a 870.

Antonio was baptised in Liverpool.   About what year range would your grandmother have been visiting them?

EDIT: No sponsor on father's side, but mother's side has Maria Tuzzio.

There should be a Rosolina, born Coventry, 1911 as well.  So it looks like they moved to Cheshire between her birth, and the census date, as by then they were in Cheshire? Or has my coffee not kicked in yet?

Edit: nevermind, just saw Ladyhawk's update.
