Are you certain you have the right burial? There is also an Elizabeth Ann Fairhurst who died in 1919 inAshton in Makerfield age 32 which is slightly closer to her age in other records. (See lan-opc)

There are a few other deaths in the Wigan area but quite a bit later which fit with a birth in 1882

Have you got the death certificate to see who registered it?

Thanks, had got that off online Lancashire parish records, just trying to get picture of life pre marriage, grooms father down for both, want to clarify her parentage. Census said 1883, nearest is birth under fylde in 1882. Assume her parents were Irish migrants.
Do you mean a census transcript has year of birth 1883? A person's age, not the year s/he was born, was recorded on a census. A year of birth on a census transcript is only an estimated year of birth, calculated from subtracting the person's age on census night from the census year. Census was usually held in Britain in March or April.

Yes, it's definitely the right death. Not got certificate, but assume her husband would have as no record of parents having moved with her.

Sorry but Just struggling to match that burial with all the other details that have been posted. Elizabeth Ann Maguire mmn Graham born Fleetwood in 1882, a year which is consistent with all the information on the census returns, including 1911 in Ince and her marriage certificate. Why would she suddenly change to a birth year of 1888 on her burial which also has different parents names.

So that proves the 1919 one in Ashton does not relate to the OP

The NBI gives the 1882 as the year of birth for the Elizabeth Ann FAIRHURST who died 1919 in Rotherham. ???

Yes, the cemetery records. Perhaps it's way to tie up birth and death records when people moved around so much. Seems regular policy with records seen for this cemetery.

How were you able to get the "cemetery records",please?
Information on death records can be slightly "iffy" depending on what the informant supplies.

Looked at burial records in archives and maps, also Elizabeth Ann is my great grandmother, so a lot of information from my nan, who was ten when she died. Cannot find any Joseph and Harriet Maguire in Fleetwood though, what census claimed is her birthplace, thomas, seems to be from Ince. Had a cousin do a lot of research on his side, and Elizabeth was second wife.
