In the 1911 there is a daughter Lilian Eveline age 10 months but I can't see a birth for her on the GRO index with or without a mmn.

So perhaps the certificate could be related to her? I can't find one either.

Born Abertillery
That one could be
RICHARDS, LILIAN  EVELYN GWENDOLINE
Mother's Maiden Surname: HARRIES
GRO Reference: 1910  J Quarter in BEDWELLTY  Volume 11A  Page 117

Thank you very much, I guess the family moved around following work at the pits?

The address will be Bushy Park, Wainfelin, Pontypool - they must have moved there after 1911 so it will be one of the daughters born thereafter.

Ahh thank you, I was trying to guess the name of the Wainfe.... on the certificate

FREEBMD Birth Jun 1910 Bedale     9d    117    Lilian Evelyn G RICHARDS

Thank you very much, there can't be too many people with that combination of given names, this is helpful, thank you.

This is the incorrect transcription (“Bedale”) from FreeBMD.  The correct reference (in Bedwellty district) is given on the GRO website, as posted upthread.

Who inherited the folded-up birth certificate? Were they descended from one of the daughters?

It was the daughter of Gwynneth who had it. Gwynneth married Morgan Bevan and these are my husband's grandparents.

Here is a list of William Ivor Richards and Sarah Ann Harris' children:
John Richards(1910–)
Lilian Evelyn Gwendoline Richards(1910–)
1911 census -  Abersychan, Monmouthshire, Wales
 Flora Olive Helena May Richards(1912–1922)
Gwynneth Phyllis Eileen Richards Mrs(1914–1956)
William John Richards(1917–)
Ismay Beryl Richards(1919–)
Eric Richards(1923–)

So maybe the 1930 certificate is Ismay's as she was the last daughter or maybe it is Gwynneth's and she needed a copy of her original for something??

Most likely to be Gwynneth’s then if it was inherited from her.  She would have been turning 16 in 1930 so perhaps needed a copy certificate for a job or similar.

That makes alot of sense, thank you for helping us to solve this.
