please has any one got info on smith family


Alice Louisa smith nee Hayward  born 1878  isle of wight uk  married to Frederick smith  they married isle of wight in 1901 .


had at least 6 children


Gwendoline Smith  / 1902 Hampshire uk   
 
 Eleanor Louisa Smith  /1904 devon uk   
 
 Frederick John Smith  /1906 devon uk
 
 Amina Smith ( 1908 devon uk
 
 Marjorie Smith (1911 sussex uk


George henry smith 1913 alderney




 fred was a coast guard and moved about a lot they did have one son George henry smith born 5 apri 1913 in Alderney channel isles , died at sea in 1941

by chance would any one know their address in the channel isles around 1913 .

the family did return to isle of wight uk by 1939

don't know Frederick,s age or place of birth only know he died before 1939

any info most welcome many thanks m

Hi there I can't help with the address in Alderney but you might want to check this out for the father Frederick Smith
www.genuki.uk British Coastguards 1841-1901
There is a Frederick Smith born abt 1865 Newington Surrey
1901 census he is at Coast Guard Station Newton Calbourne Isle of Wight age 36 single

1911 census he is on Vessels Frederick Smith age 47 married

Seamans Service records
Frederick Smith date of birth 24/5/1864 Newington
Some of the ships and addresses are Prawle ,Selsey ...I noticed there was a few family births there

Might be worth checking out

Yes I would say it certainly looks like its the one you are after if you search www.annbarrett.co.uk
You will see a mention of him and bap of a daughter 1902 which would be Gwendolene
