Yule was my first thought - except for the mark above the 'u' which makes me doubt it. The 'in-text' reference doesn't have these though so Yule it is.

I don't think in this case - but the surname can be spelt Yuile.

Is it a yogh ?

A mark above the letter u is often found in Scottish documents at this period, helping to distinguish it from the letter n.
