I agree with your inference.

Have the descendants of the child considered DNA testing in case it points to possible links with the birth family?

(I am assuming the “child” is no longer with us, but of course she may be).

Is the birthdate recorded in 1939 a few weeks earlier, or later, than 30 April?

If later, I wonder whether the date had some significance (e.g. being the date on which she came into the family)?

Just to rule out the obvious, does the 'short' cert show the country of birth as England/Wales?
