Yes, the newspapers all mention him working for a time in London. The Catholic Times is mentioned.

The story on Henry jnr makes for a fascinating read, see September 2, 1903 - Kerry Evening Post if you have access.

I have seen a couple of articles elsewhere about Henry but don’t have access to FindMyPast.
It would be good if it is the correct family.  :)

Has the 2nd Marriage of mother (whatever her name was ) been found?

Maybe get address at time!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

So I have finally thanks to you all found poor Timothy.
Did Timothy get a divorce from Anastasia the first woman he married or are my family illegitimate?. Lol
I found the baptism of Henry Brassil son of Timothy and Anastasia.  I have come to the conclusion she deserted the  both.
What did Timothy do. I've just subscribed to find my past, will trawl through the national  newspaper archives  and ancestry.
Although I have experience with family in history.
My ancestor was a " career criminal". , she married another man, my 3x great grandfather under another name, so I'm thinking she was still married legally to Timothy.

Where did she come from????
I'm so stuffed. More questions than answers,

I can't thank you all enough for your invaluable help.xxxx

Hi betton39,
You wrote

Before anyone asks me for a paper trail. For the last 25 years she was called Louisa Jane Shaw, born in 1833 from Alton Staffordshire.

Is she in censuses under the name of Shaw? I can’t seem to find her. Please would you give a reference.

Thanks
Heywood

Brassill of 68th is mentioned here re ‘Alice Grey’ but the rest does not tie in. I accept though that there must be quite a bit of fiction.
Have you, during your long searches,  found Mary Atkinson, her mother or her aunt in the Kendal area?

Ok. I'll explain.  Difficult. I'll start with documented evidence
Joseph corton my 2x great grandfather, son of jabez and Louisa formerly shaw. Birth certificate
Louisa Jane Shaw  marriage t o jabez.  Certificate,
Names James Shaw a stone mason as her father
Louisa cannot be found prior to her marriage at all

Rootscgat  post put out under Louisa Jane Shaw.. help required, find out about criminal past

Court case involving jabez.. cut to the chase.. he wadnt aware until later Louisa wasn't her real name, she has three criminal convictions as the famous imposter Alice grey from Wolverhampton..
Also in 1858 a fraud case whilst marrying jabez mentioning her prior convictions as Alice grey .( sent to Stafford jail for 3 years). The newspaper also mentions her convictions as Alice, so I can back track.

I'm now trawling through previous convictions and court cases.
Names start coming forward attached to her.  Anastasia Carter, Anastasia haggard.
As I back track and read...  Brazil marriage

So I'm now trying to find her past

Ancestry gave me 2 marriages to Timothy Brazil
And a baptism of Henry
Xxxxx

It does the in Bizarrely

As the court case is going on ... her photo fit is sent to Ireland,  as Alice grey
Cork police come back that her father's name is huggart/ haggard. But she uses the name Armstrong.(1849)
The Dublin police see the photo fit and reply to Wolverhampton that it is the women and she has been arrested by the name haggard(c. 1851-1853)
I'm wondering if.
1. She was born illegitimate possibly father Huggard mother Atkinson. We was sent  to an aunt to live apparently when her father died of cholera.

2 if she can marry my 3x great grandfather under the assumed name of Louisa Jane Shaw. She can marry another poor man under the assumed name of Anastasia , which she has already admitted to..

This is a good one isn't it
