Alina Wergo b 1930 perhaps Russia or Poland

The above is a follow up to my post about Charles E Read whose grandson married Alina in 1956 in Canada. It is believed that her mother escaped from Russia/Poland with 3 children including Alina but nothing can be found about her early life. The name Wergo could be a variation of Werygo as there was one such who entered Canada in 1913 aged 18 but it was a man with no family.

Yes she passed away 16 Jan 2014 Toronto, York, Ontario.
The original topic was about Charles William Read and at https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=811046.27 which you also did research on.

James was in the police according to Canada Voters List of 1957. Later 1972 - Fairhill Crescent - Scarborough York Ontario. No children with them on either voters list.

There was a Robert Werygo on Canada Voters List 1968 - 13 Euclid Avenue - no others with him - unemployed.

That is super Sandra, gives a clue that Alina was possibly born in Russia too. As to the people mentioned in her obituary, apparently the family know little or nothing about Alina's background; it seems to have been kept a secret from them!
