There is a death for a 70yr old John McAllister Walker in Kilmarnock Ayrshire in 1963. This is the only possible death with the middle initials of McA.

Yes, that was all I could see, and it was not Kilwinning.

Hi,

There is a death of a John McAlpine Walker aged 72 in 1961 registered in Ardrossan & Saltcoats on Scotlands People.

There does not seem to be a death in Scotland for the subject of the thread.

Looby :)

Perhaps this man died in Kilwinning but his family registered the death in Kilmarnock?

Looby :)

Deaths are registered in the RD where the death occurred as with births.

It may have been a case of the newspaper entry relating to his home address for simplicity as the funeral would be from there  :-\
