Frederick William Roe: The Run Away Child

I've been looking into the family history of the Roe family in Dorset and I've only been able to go as far back as my great great grandfather who ran away from home at the age of 12. He was adopted by Monks who trained him to be a farmer. He joined a farm in Ferndown, previously Hampreston, in Dorset.

According to a 1911 Census he was born 1862 and came from Gosport but I haven't been able to find anything about him! Can anyone shed a light on him?

Added:- there are 8 birth registrations of a Frederick William Roe 1858 - 1862. None of them are in Dorset.

1871 Frederick is with his Lockyer grandparents in Purruck Farm ,Starm (?) [Christchurch district]. He's indexed as Rox by Ancestry

Sarah Lockyer age 16 is with her parents George and Mary in the 1851 census

There's one other Roe with mmn Lockyer - Elizabeth Phoebe in Kensington in 1864.

An Edwin Roe dies in Kensington in 1864, aged 31. Looks like the father

The other child is with her paternal grandparents, St John's Hill, Lady St Mary, Wareham
