I would go for suggestion 3 in reply #6. You should meet with success with that one.  :)

To Freshfields
Thanks for the offer but I am trying to tie this case up by mid June to present the tree to a family member as a birthday present.

To Minniehaha
I have just sent an email to the library asking for assistance. Thank you

I had found the cremation log and tried to email the Funeral Directors but emails keep getting bounced back.

Try the email here as I believe there has been a change:https://www.fdanz.co.nz/fdanz-funeral-directors

Scroll down to Auckland funeral directors

Greetings Phil.

I know you wished to close off your BARNES research with a presentation before now, but as I returned to the Auckland branch of the National Archive on Friday 19th to further my own pioneers' research, I looked up the will [R5343217] of Kenneth Palmer BARNES, civil servant of Bombay, and photographed it.

For the record, it was a very basic affair of only one page.

Sole executrix being Alison Jessie Anoca BARNES, if surviving Kenneth by 14 days.

Alternatively two Auckland Solicitor's were named.

Then sole beneficeries being equal shares to his two children R. J. P. B & K. N. P. B

Dated 27th June 1968.

If interested in a copy, I can forward to any supplied email address, once recieved by Private Message.

Alan.

Hello Alan
Thanks for that. Since posting this request I have been able to make contact with the regiment Kenneth served in as well as his one son. I now have so many photos and documents on him I think I could write a book !
Thanks for the offer of the will copy but I thing I have all I need now.
Phil
