I've found a couple of potential birthplaces and years for John Roe that place him in Dorset and makes him a minor. The two below are the only John Roes I could find born in Dorset between 1738 (17 in 1755) and 1732 (13 in 1755)

John Roe b.1740 Corfe Castle.
Father: Charles Roe
Mother: Susana Roe

John Roe b.1738 Blandford Forum. Father: Thomas Roe

My only question is: is it likely that he was married to his first with for 19 years without having any children before marrying his second wife with whom he had 4?

It's certainly a possibility; suggests that the first wife had problems conceiving or carrying to term.

Hmmm something's not adding up!

My options:

- He was born 1750 in wareham and I've got the wrong first marriage (1755)
- He was born elsewhere (maybe Corfe Castle) and was a minor during his first marriage
- He was born 1750 in wareham and was 5 when he got married...
- I've got everything wrong so far!

The death record I found for him doesn't have an age and neither do either marriage records

There are loads of Roes in Corfe Castle (the neighboring parish) so I'm assuming he's related to them but I just can't make the connection

A possible baptism from Wareham baptisms on opcdorset.org:

John, son of John and Mary ROWE of Stoborough (Old Meeting House) on 18th January 1750.
