William Midgley's occupation in 1901
« on: Friday 31 May 19 13:15 BST (UK) »
In 1891 William Midgley is a farm labourer.  In 1911 he is a Teamer for Nurseryman (or nursingman as FindMyPast have it).

I cannot make out his occupation in 1901.  FindMyPast have Dry Packers Teamer but I think this is incorrect.

Any suggestions, please?  The ref is RG13/4108 f78 page 14.  William Midgley 43 born Wakefield, at 10 Sheepridge Road, Huddersfield.

I think it's Dry Salter's Teamer.

Not a term you often hear today - brief definition at http://www.rmhh.co.uk/occup/d.html
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Thanks arthurk for your response and the link, I agree with your suggestion of Drysalter's Teamer.  Not come across that one before.

Just to add from the OED
Drysalter; A dealer in chemical products used in the arts, drugs, dye-stuffs, gums, etc.; sometimes also in oils, sauces, pickles, tinned meats, etc.
