Re Alexander Burnet.

Spalding tells how Alexander Burnet had to flee Aberdeen with others in 1644. Later that year "Alexander Burnet elder" fled, perhaps the same man. Later still there is an entry about the moving of brass cannon: "Thairefter, it wes said, thay intendit to schip thir cartowis in ane schip lying in Montroiss water, pertening to Alexander Burnet, elder in Abirdene, be consent of Alexander Burnet his sone, who hapnit to be thair and had promesit no less, being ane antecovenanter".

Since, for the moment, I am not a member of Ancestry, I was wondering if there was a way for Gr2 and myself to communicate regarding regular postings.
You see, I do agree with him with some of his findings but do feel that what he has needs to be expanded to clarify things.

You can always send personal messages here on Rootschat. I'm not a member of Ancestry. It might also just be good to post any queries you have as normal as it means lots of other folk can see them too. There's always the possibility that someone out there with access to useful sources sees it.

In some posts I have referred to John Spalding's "Memorialls of The Trubles in Scotland and in England". Spalding lived in Aberdeen at the time. It covers the years 1624 - 1645.

Ancestry Library Edition is available in a large number of public libraries worldwide. You will probably find that your local library has access.
