There is another Edmund Cording (under Gooding) in Middlesex in 1841, born c 1791 not in County,
Died 1847
Married 1838, Widower, to Catherine PITKIN, occp Tailor, Father JOHN a Labourer.

A submitted Tree has your Edmund born 1788 Somerset, Father JOHN.

He is not yours in my opinion but is the one who died 1847
(This Edmunds Bapt is on FreeREG 1788 and likely 1st Marriage 1810 to Sarah PRATT)

The Petone Settlers data mentions a Robert and Ann Buckridge nee Cording (100177) in the Edmund Cording record.  They arrived in Wellington on 17 February 1842 so before Edmund and Ann Cording.
Ann Buckridge's parents are given as Edmund Cording and Ann Unknown in the information in the link below (a daughter?).
Robert Buckridge was a Lighthouse Keeper at Somes Island, Wellington Harbour.

Oh - that's VERY cool!  I knew he had been a lighthouse keeper, but I've never seen a link to the actual lighthouse, or all that information...FANTASTIC.
