I found younger sister Jane Eleanor living with her widowed father in 1911
and his grandson William Jones 17 .
Helpfully census said he had 7 children 1 died tho that line has been crossed thru..

John Jones left probate to her

Does anyone know how to find out who the farm belonged to ....were they tenant farmers or could they have passed the farm ownership on to relatives .

I've been working on unraveling all the family relationships so built my tree sideways and come across Jones marrying Jones in every generation and children with grandparents or uncles at different addresses ...very hard to work out who belonged to who .

Also finding several Wesleyan ministers along the way .

Is Bryn Gwillig the same farm

Maybe Thomas E Jones retired farmer is same man wife's date is out and  Catherine Jones b 1905  is with them . Not  daughter ?

Update ; finally sorted out some DNA matches and mistake on my tree  . I had wrong William as father for Joseph JONES
It should be William. Jones b1783 

So Enoch & Joseph & David were brothers after all and  uncle relationship was correct for the children of Joseph .

They also had at least 3 other siblings
 William b1815
 Naomi 1818 who married Edward Jones b 1812
Edward Jones 1822 -1883

So now have to sort out their children and see who lived where with whom

Neice Margaret and nephew John in first post are NOT Enoch's children

ive not worked out  who
margaret jones neice age 9 living in 1851 with my ancestors joseph+ rebekah JONES   at 11 abbott street
hes an innkeeper then
but seems to have gone back to farming in 1861 at Abenbury farm


His son Joseph1853 became a butcher
*Abiah 1849 became a lamp lighter
daughter Dorcas b1847  ran away age 15  with the carter James Roberts from bryn golen farm
who became a lead miner and most of her 10 children ended up working at a pit including the girls
martha ann b 1850 also married a lead miner aand had 8 children
harriet rebecca b 1855 married a jones and emigrated to usa one son died on the boat the other became a reverend

ive had contact with descendants of all except Joseph junior
including one man who didnt knoa his birth father but thru dna triangulations + trees we know that Dorcas is his direct ancestor + have narrowed down his grandmother in this line

Update ...the answers to some questions lies in the THOMAS connections

In start of  post I was looking for connection of abiahs JONES to his uncle David JONES
but he was an uncle s wife MARTHA nee THOMAS was sister to his mother

Martha & David JONES did have a child John David JONES 1838 who had 6 children the eldest being Thomas Edwin 1863 the youngest Eleanor Jane JONES 1873

So Mabel's hunch about the THOMAS connection.may also be correct will have to look for a Charlotte

I'm corresponding with a 4th cousin descended fro Rebekah +
Martha's brother Benjamin who lives near the church and original family home and has lots of family knowledge

This is what she said about the farm.

" My problem is that there is no Bryn Gole farm in Llanarmon yn Ial only in Llanelidan which is the source for the two census 1851 and 1871 that show Abiah there. "
