Help ? find my half brother
« on: Monday 03 June 19 20:07 BST (UK) »
Hello

My biological father left when I was 2 years old
Im 28 and I managed to track his family and him down online
Unfortunately he passed away approximately ten years ago

His remaining family are very closed off and have stopped answering any of my questions , despite me gently asking questions over a period of months now

All I know is I have a half brother that's 4/ 5 years younger than me
His first name
And his mother's first name
Very little to go on

I have an approximate death date for my father but can’t source my father’s death certificate either

I don't think my father stayed with my half brother either
I believe he died whilst dating a different woman

I know it's a long shot
But can anyone give me any suggestions on what direction to go in next

It took me a month using ancestry / guess work and ordering my father’s birth certificate to finally find news of him
And I feel that finding my half brother is the only possibly positive outcome to come out of it

I think maybe he doesn't know about me either

Welcome to rootschat, Alexander90.

Rootschat is for finding about dead people not living ones....

What country did this happen in?

As your Father has died, have you tried to find a will for him, or do you want to give a name and year of birth?

As the family has stopped answering your questions, perhaps they do not think that any positive outcome will result from further contact?

These events have happened in the UK

I have tried to order a Death certificate by guessing the rough dates Which I should receive in the last few days

I do apologise I thought it was finding family members

I personally don’t believe that it is anybodies right to decide something on somebody else’s behalf
I’m open and honest with my children and my family
But that is my opinion

Hello, Alexander. If you select "Help" at the top of the page, then "Guidelines for posting" you will find some paragraphs about tracing living relatives with 2 links to resource pages.
Don't put names or details on the forum as it concerns people who are alive, is a sensitive topic, and your father has been deceased for only a few years.
