1960s Canadian Death Certificate
« on: Friday 07 June 19 19:46 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I'm not familiar with Canadian records hence this very basic question. Would a death certificate from 1962 show both the deceased parents? It was a John McKenzie and as his grave is in Toronto I'm presuming he died there.
Many Thanks

Perhaps it is possible to find an obituary but we need more details - Have you got any other details to share ?  Was John married ? When was he born ? Anything that may help ?

There is a John Mackenzie born 1886 and died 1962 - Mount Pleasant Cemetery -  wife Evelyn F Burt MacKenzie ???

Thanks Sandra, yes that's the man, I've had a look at the 1913 marriage but there is no mention of parents.

Nothing on the marriage certificate as you said - no witnesses that might give any clues.

For background - this was the 1921 census showing the couple - with two children - living
1774 Masson Street Hochelaga, Rosemount, St Michaels.

John MacKenzie   34
Evelyn MacKenzie 28
Lestie MacKenzie 7
Edith MacKenzie   7

Have you noticed the anc tree which gives parents -  David MacKenzie - 1853 - 1935 and Rebecca Neave 1856 - 1946

A daughter Evelyn MacKenzie (1914 - 1982)  married to George W McBurney (1911 - 1972) Toronto

A son leslie MacKenzie married to a Rita Tracy (no source or proper date given)

The other one which is male is marked private -- so perhaps that's the line of the researcher of the anc tree ?
