Yes, that's her.  I have most of the West Australian stuff, just wanted to know his parents names, where and when born, why (ha ha) he took to a life of crime.  (He may have been orphaned young for example)

The British newspaper web site is where the article about him breaking into the workhouse is mentioned.  There is another article where the same thing happened after 1851.

You may need to ignore this as I believe John has the answer replies 26 /27  ;D
In 1841 there is only one person with the surname Dennis in Bray.  He is showing as age 2 but we should consider that his age may have been entered wrongly and should be a 7.  He is not born in the County (Berkshire) but if 'your' Henry had been brought up in Bray then he would probably think that is where he was born.  He is living in the same property as George & Lucy Ray and their family but not as part of their family. The other person in his part of the dwelling is a 12 year old girl so it looks as though they were 'boarding'
The 1851 census only mentions one person with the surname Dennis who was born in Bray (Henry) and none resident there at that time.  I suspect he was probably illegitimate and 'fostered' out .

Hi rosie99,  I thought he was in jail in 1851. What does the other article say after '51, can you post them here?  ;D

Yes he was in jail in 1851 and the only Dennis result that I got for the whole of England who was born in Bray.

Baptisms indexed in Bray in the 1820's to James and Elizabeth Dennis.
And also to James and Elizabeth Tennis!
Are they the same people? :-\

FamilySearch has a Henry Tannis, bap at Bray, 22 May 1831
