Help finding Gr Grandfathers MN Records.

I may be flogging a dead horse but here goes.

My Gt Grandfather was born in Sweden about 1845 and was in the British Merchant Navy on the ship “Bradford” registered in Grimsby. What I am looking for is the possibility that there would be Swedish papers lodged somewhere that would give his vital details. My aim is to try to find a link to my Swedish line. The only thing family members are aware is he came from Sweden and it does not look as if he made contact. Here are the details I have. It would seem he has Anglicanized his name.

M. 4 Sep 1871 St Mary’s, Hull, Yorkshire, England to Margaret Linguard b.abt. 1850 North Thoresby, Lincolnshire
Occupation 1871, Sailor, 1881 Boatswain No other census.
Died 1921 Waltham, Lincolnshire

Any help appreciated in locating his merchant navy records.

Thank you Ian that is very much appreciated. I have a record from a Passenger List that looks very much like him. Just no proof.
