I have just tried to register. So far it has asked me 3 times if I am a robot, but will not proceed past that point. I am impressed, but not favourably.

Did you register as a result of my question, or were you interested already? Do you think it will be a useful site?

I have just looked as a result of this post and will not be using it.  Not really sure what it is trying to achieve that is not already available elsewhere

As a result of your question. All my family left the UK when Adam was discussing lunch options with Eve. They didn't come back till after India got her independence. So another source of information gathering from the far east is welcome to me.

East Anglia is very heavily represented on the site.

As I understand it, it is simply a place where people can discuss ancestors, especially common ancestors or surnames, and share information or documents. Apparently people enter Gedcoms, the site extracts all the surnames, or full names, and thus facilitates people finding others with similar interests. It sounds like it could be useful if enough people join up, but may not be very useful while small.

Thank you for your explanation that is what I had thought.  Matches for any search I did brought up nothing of value to me I am afraid.
