I can only find record of her marriage to Francis How in Luton in 1740. Nothing giving her date/place of birth/ baptism.

I notice what appears to be their first child was Susannah, baptised May 1741. This suggests to me that Francis might the Francis How , baptised 5 March 1714, Luton, son of  Thomas and Susanna

What evidence have you got of her birth year/place ???

Have you got her year of death/age at death ?

As per the Beds FHS Surnames Index CD there is no baptism of a Mary Cooper in 1724 (+/- 5 years) at Luton or any places around there.

Cheers John

Thank you for your reply. It looks like she might have been born outside of Bedfordshire

Might she have been a widow so her maiden name wouldn't have been Cooper?

Good thinking.... Well if she was born 1724 and married in 1740/41 she'd be only 16/17 at this 2nd marriage --- so how old was she at the first marriage ?

I have yet to see anything to justify the assertion that she was born in (a) Luton in (b) 1724. Her place of marriage is a useful pointer, but where did the date come from? It cannot, surely, be a complete figment of a fertile imagination?

Just a bit of blue sky thinking.
William Cooper married Mary Squire  21 October 1739. Luton. Mary's first marriage?
